La version de la pièce Jingle Bells du pianiste est construite autour d’un ostinato rythmique et mélodique qui tire son rapport au temps et à la beauté des cycles. J’avais envie de faire une version différente, plus hivernale, plus dramatique, mais aussi lumineuse. Il faut dire que Jingle Bells est peut-être le thème musical le plus connu de tous, et que l'exercice de le reconstruire à ma sauce était un jeu extrêmement stimulant. Un Noël à ma saveur, un Noël qui reconnaît la polarité entre la joie et la nostalgie, commente Mathieu Bourret.

The pianist's version of Jingle Bells is built around a rhythmic and melodic ostinato that draws its relationship to time and beauty from the cycles. I wanted to do a different version, more wintry, more dramatic, but also luminous. It must be said that Jingle Bells is perhaps the most famous musical theme of all, and that the exercise of reconstructing it in my own way was an extremely stimulating game. A Christmas to my taste, a Christmas that recognizes the polarity between joy and nostalgia, comments Mathieu Bourret.
